Case : 152The 18th century saw the game of tarot's greatest revival, which it became the most popular card game in Europe, after around 300 years forgotten, played everywhere except Britain and Balkans. The games, known as "tarot", "tarock", "tarocco", are known in many variations, mostly cultural and regional. The French jeu de tarot, the second-most popular card game in France, is a trick-taking strategy tarot card game. The basic rules first appeared before 1425, written by Martiano da Tortona. Many tournaments are now held by the FΓ©dΓ©ration FranΓ§aise de Tarot, establised in 1971. Originally played with the Italian-suited Tarot de Marseille, latterly only used for divination, the game is now played with the French-suited Tarot Nouveau which has been gaining popularity since the latter part of the 19th century. The Tarot Nouveau, has trumps which depict scenes of traditional social activities; this differs from the Renaissance allegorical motifs found in Tarot de Marseille, and its variations. From 20th century, its could be used for divination.
