Paul Foster Case (1884–1954) was an American occultist of the early 20th century and author of numerous books on occult tarot and Qabalah. In 1918, Case  joined Alpha et Omega (A.O.) founded in 1906, a successor organization to the Golden Dawn and quickly moved up Third Adept grades. Around 1921, Case resigned in the order, responding to controversy with Moina Mathers, and found the Builders of the Adytum (B.O.T.A.). Case was the original founder of advanced thought publishing, he left behind extensive published writings on the Western Mystery Tradition,  especially in Tarot. Perhaps his greatest contributions to the field of occultism were the lessons he wrote for associate members. The famous B.O.T.A. Tarot deck, illustrated by J.B. Parke, has been changed what he said were mistakes or "blinds" in the Rider-Waite edition. Along with B.O.T.A. Tarot, the guide book The Tarot was the first published book to reveal almost all of the tarot attributions on the 'Cube of Space' diagram in Kabbalah, the corner stone of B.O.T.A.
