Case : 228Eden Gray (1901–1999), was the professional name of Priscilla Pardridge, an American actress, and writer on the esoteric meanings of Tarot cards and their use in fortune-telling. She earned a doctorate of divinity degree from the First Church of Religious Science and then lectured in Science of Mind, around 1950. In the 1960s, Through her books, Gray had an integral part in the creation of the contemporary interest in esoteric Tarot in general, and the Waite-Smith Tarot deck and, the most important, the invention of the Fool's Journey interpretation of the Tarot trump cards in particular. Eden Gray self-published her first book, Tarot Revealed in 1960 to which she applied her New Thought perspective to make it easier to ordinary people. Now, it becomes the most influenced tarot book in USA in 20th century. She followed up her first success with two more tarot books: A Complete Guide to the Tarot (1970) and Mastering the Tarot (1971). These books have remained continuously in print and are still among the best-selling tarot books today.
