Vietnamese World of Tarot: Tarot Decks

Case : 478
While tarot appeared in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, the tarot community at this time is small and let no trace, without any development, except some translated books. The first tarot creation project is the Vietnamese Legend Tarot (22 trumps only) by Man Doan, a famous manga artist in 2011, but still not published. This deck reused the scenes from Waite tarot, combined it with the Vietnamese legend, but using the Asian Taoism and shamanism theory. After that, many projects are published its outline, but no one has been finished.  The first finished project is LOL Tarot by Mark Au, which contains only Major Arcana, and is a fanmade of the video game League of Legends. The first project which finished all 78 cards are the Minimalism Tarot by Anh Nguyen, a tarot reader, but still not in public. This deck is the simplifying of the Waite tarot scenes, with only 2 colors: black and white. The Tarot of Jesus Christ of Philippe Ngo is the real first published tarot of Vietnamese community, in 2017. This artwork is based on the Durer’s woodcut series Apocalypse and Great Passions of Christ. All of three decks are from the member of the  Tarot Huyen Bi’s  group, founded in 2011.
