Influence from the early tarot to modern tarot: Illuminated tarot decks

Case: 741
The first tarot deck (produced luxury by Visconti and Sforza family) are made with a ancient technique called  illuminated paper-art which prefer the manuscripts decorated with gold or silver and gemstones. An illuminated paper-art is not considered illuminated unless one or many illuminations contained gold foil or was brushed with gold specks, a process known as burnishing. The application of gold leaf or dust to an illumination is a very detailed process that only the most skilled illuminators can undertake and successfully achieve. In first time, only the reproductions and the facsimiles of these historical antique decks try to apply this technic like Visconti-Sforza Tarot, Golden Renaissance Tarot…. But, after a longtime forgotten, this tradition revives and apply for many new decks by using the modern technic. Many tarot decks apply this luxury style: Franco Rivolli’s Silver Witcraft Tarot (2014), Justin Ternel’s Le Noir Tarot (2012), Radleigh Valentine’s Angel Tarot (2012).
