The first fortune-telling cards: Proverb and Education Deck

At the Quite a few old German decks featuring proverbs and sayings that must have been used for obtaining advice and prognostication of how a situation would progress. The suits consist of Green Leaves (Spades), Red Hearts (Hearts), Yellow Bells (Diamonds) and Black Acorns (Clubs). Acorns (Clubs) are generally the worst suit, while the Green Leaves (Spades) are the best suit. Many education or humorous society decks are still used until 20th century, the mix between the playing cards and the image of a subject is very popular.  We can count some of them: Parisian Society cards, Jeu de cartes mythologiques, Costume du Monde, Epitre aux dames… Another kind of card has been presented at this time is advertising cards. Many example could be found not only in France.
